Part of the expansive, municipal, Oglebay Resort & Conference Center, the Good Zoo & Benedum Planetarium are two of the park's top family attractions, holding more than 100 animals and representing more than 30 different species. Lorikeet Landing draws crowds into its covered aviary, providing a space where children can get close to, feed and even touch, these brilliantly hued birds from Australia while spaces in the covered barn are filled with domesticated animals for children to observe and feel. Also on site, Benedum Planetarium plays various amazing shows on its domed ceiling. The zoo is on the western end of the resort, which also contains historic homes, museums, sports and golf facilities, outdoor spaces and overnight lodging, all situated a few miles northeast of town.
